“Whatever good is done for good men is never done in vain” – Plautus

Once more we are able to write a report about a very successful mission at Sitagu Ayudana Hospital in Myanmar. This year, 47 children with cleft lip and palate or heavy scarring received our help through surgery. Removing the harmful scar tissue takes it’s time but is necessary to guarantee an unlimited usage of, for example, the patient’s hands or legs. Like in the years before, we witnessed touching sceneries, like a mother and her child who traveled to the far off hospital for the second time. The first year, they arrived later than planned, so that our team was already gone. This year, she was finally able to see the doctors. Other families arrived, knowing they could not afford their homeward journey. Especially for these cases, we always give a donation to the monastery, which is used to help these families. Stories like those reveal, tht our support is still called for.

This year we had the great pleasure to be accompanied by a camera crew of the German TV channel ZDF. Their task was to record footage, which will be shown in the course of a fundraising campaign on 03. December 2016. Our founding members Dr. Julia Berkei and Dr. Barun Sarkar will be live on TV, introducing the viewers to the project. With the help of TV host Johannes B. Kerner, they were able to raise an impressive sum.

Be part of it!
